Part of the National Park system, Point Reyes National Seashore rests along the California coast north of San Francisco - overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay. Originally home to Coast Miwok Indians, the park contains long beaches, forested hills, and a full trail system. The weather is unpredictable, from thick fog to strong winds, rain to sun, but that's the beauty of it - you never know what you'll get. In the Spring, the rolling coastal hills turn emerald green resembling the Moors of Scotland, and wildflowers bloom throughout the park. Tomales Bay separates part of the park from the main coast of California and was created by the San Andreas fault dropping into the sea running northwest.
